About the Artist

Marion Field Koch is a Texas artist creating paintings in oil and pastel. Her work centers on figurative and portraiture works. She most enjoys capturing a moment of time that tells an evocative story.
Following her upbringing in San Antonio, Marion started her artistic journey by creating Masters studies while living in Brewster County, Texas. Her desire to capture the beauty of her two sons eventually led into the study of the human figure, anatomy, and portraiture.
Earning a BFA in visual arts from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, Marion returned to San Antonio to each privately and in public at the University of Texas, and later the Coppini Academy of Fine Arts.
As she continues in creating her figurative works and exploring the workings of Texas ranch life, Marion’s passion for teaching and hence, passing on the joy of learning the fundamentals of art, has proven to be a foundation for her own growth and knowledge, and has been great source of connection with other artists.
Marion’s work has been exhibited and awarded throughout the country. Her well-known depictions of local Texans have received several awards and are part of public and private collections.
